BEAR MOUNTAIN RACE RESULTS

DOGAĐAJ

Racers of the Bear Mountain Trail Challenge can expect varied, difficult terrain, including rolling hills and plenty of technical footing with plenty of tree cover overhead.

Some sections will be rocky, rooted, and covered in leaves, while other sections will be a bit more open and runnable. While there are no huge climbs, racers can expect to be ascending or descending more or less constantly.Expect mud slippery rocks, and occasional stream crossings.

This course will reward the strongest, most versatile trail runners!

Event starts and ends on Saturday, May 6th.

  • 50k: 7:00 am.
  • Half Marathon: 8:00 am.
  • 10k: 9:00 am. and 9:15 am.
Obavezna oprema
  •  Half Marathon and 50k runners are required to carry 20 ounces of water carrying capacity.
Prize Information
  • The top 3 males and females overall for each distance as well as the top 3 males and females in each of 6 age groups will receive awards during a podium ceremony after the race.
  • See the race-specific runner guide for the time of the awards ceremony.
  • Runners must be present at the awards ceremony to receive their award — awards will not be mailed.
  • Age groups are as follows: 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
Parking
  • There’s no onsite parking available for runners on Bear Mountain State Park (race start/finish area)

  • Parking area for racer will be at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area (same place as shuttle departure and arrival). Be sure to arrive with spare time and be ready to jump on the shuttle with your race equipment and remember there’s bag check at start and finish area.

  • Parking location: Anthony Wayne Recreation Area.

Shuttles
  • All racers are required to ride the free shuttle from Anthony Wayne Recreation Area
    to the start/finish area. The ride takes approximately 10 minutes. The first shuttle will depart Anthony Wayne at 5:30am, and shuttles will run every 10-20 minutes. From the finish line back to Anthony Wayne, shuttles will operate on an ongoing basis throughout the day until the last racer finishes. there’s bag check at start and finish area.

  • SHUTTLE DEPARTURE LOCATION

50k Drop Bag
  • Racers from the 50k will be allowed to leave a drop bag with equipment of their need at the Anthony Wayne aid station (Mile 4 Outbound / Mile 21.1 Inbound). Drop bag MUST be left before jumping to the shuttles to the start (drop bag location is the same as parking location). Race staff will be tagging them and leaving it on drop bag tent for the race.

Race Cutoffs
  • Intermediate race points cut-offs are safety based and will be indicated by race staff and volunteers. Please read the athletes guide at the “Aid Station Details” section to know where and when are cutoffs happening.

  • ATHLETE’S GUIDE

After Race Meal
  • Food will be available for buying at the race start / finish line area. Bring your warm clothes to get changed after the race and hang out for a while at the stunning Bear Mountain State Park!

Tracking
  • If you’d like to follow your runner, race tracking will be available. We’ll post the tracking link through our social media and website
